The Singles Championship Trophy ![]() Click for enlargement |
The format of this competition is new this year. It is now a quadruple-entry knock-out, but with the additional restriction that players with a handicap less than 3 have just two entries in the top half of the draw, and are replaced with byes in the bottom half. The bottom half thus becomes a B-Level Advanced competition in its own right for handicaps 3+, taking the form of a double-entry knock-out. The winner of that B-Level Advanced sub-competition meets the winner of the top (unrestricted) half of the draw in an overall Final to determine the Level Advanced singles champion. Lower handicap players are seeded. All matches will be 26pt games played level to Advanced rules, and to a time limit agreed between the players (3.5 hours if no agreement). Both players in each match are responsible for contacting their opponent to arrange the match. Results of the matches will be updated here from time to time. They are also shown on the notice-board in the club hut. Players must enter results on their handicap cards as well. |
