The club's membership year runs from 1st April to 31st March of the following calendar year. Details of the club's organisation, trustees and constitution can be found in the formal Club Constitution. (The club's trustees also form the committee which manages the club's activities, and the terms 'trustees' and 'committee' are sometimes informally exchanged.) A "new" member is someone who has not been a member in the previous two membership years.

New members should send their name, address, phone number and email address to the Membership Secretary. Cheques for membership should be made payable to "Watford (Cassiobury) Croquet Club" and sent to the Club Treasurer. Alternatively, payment can be made by direct transfer to the club's bank account (please ask the Membership Secretary or Club Treasurer for the account details).

Playing times

During the summer playing season from April to September, there are two courts allocated for Golf Croquet each week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and two courts for Association Croquet in the afternoon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, except on a few occasions when they are needed for tournaments or other special events. Certain times are also set aside for mowing and court maintenance. At all other times and days of the week, and on the other two courts, members may play either Golf Croquet or Association Croquet whenever the courts are free (though combining both types of croquet on the same court at the same time is best avoided); advance booking is recommended to ensure availability.

During the winter season from October to March, apart from a period of a few weeks when all the courts are closed for maintenance, there is normally at least one court available for play when the weather conditions permit.

See the Calendar and the Court Booking System for details of events, session times and court availability.

Members who turn up during one of the scheduled summer club sessions can usually expect to get a game. At other times it is generally advisable to plan a specific game with another club member in advance. A list of members' contact details is available in the website Members Area (login required).

The first players to arrive each day are responsible for setting out the hoops, and the last players to leave are responsible for putting them back in the club hut and locking up.

Guests

Club members may invite guests to come and play for a charge of £5 per guest per day, subject to the following provisions:
